Dr. Flavia Gruesc leads Gateway Dental Clinic with a quiet conviction that excellent dentistry begins with listening. Every plan is shaped to the person — their history, comfort level, and goals.
Her team is as multicultural and multiethnic as Toronto itself, fluent in English, Romanian, Polish, and Russian, so every patient feels at home from the moment they walk in.
The clinic is environmentally conscious, fully digital, and uses radiography that delivers significantly less radiation than conventional x-rays.

Registered Dental Hygienist
Katryn is committed to exceptional patient care and lifelong oral health, blending clinical expertise with a warm, personal touch so every patient leaves with a healthy smile. Outside the clinic she's a self-proclaimed foodie who loves exploring new flavours, and a true animal lover who unwinds with her two cats, Mozart and Max.
Registered Dental Hygienist
Mirela is a dedicated and compassionate hygienist, passionate about helping patients achieve and maintain healthy smiles. She has over 30 years in the dental field and graduated from the Dental Hygiene Program at Yorkville College of Professional Studies in 2006, providing gentle, personalized care ever since. She believes a positive, comfortable, welcoming environment is an important part of every visit, and takes pride in educating patients about their oral health. Outside the office, Mirela enjoys time with family and friends and stays active with long walks and cross-country skiing.
Front Desk Receptionist
Natalia is usually the first smiling face you see when you walk through our doors. With over 10 years of customer service experience, she loves making patients feel relaxed and cared for from the moment they arrive. She has kept our front office running smoothly for over three years, coordinating scheduling, helping patients understand their treatment plans, and navigating complex insurance details with ease. An absolute people person, she loves getting to know our patients and their families. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and spending time with her two sons.
Dental Assistant
Emilia is our part-time assistant with 30 years of experience and a vital member of the team. Her mission is making sure patients feel comfortable and relaxed throughout their dental procedures. Outside the office, she's passionate about architecture, flowers, travel, and her tomcat.
Dental Assistant
Margarita brings a rich medical background to the Gateway Dental team. Born in Novosibirsk, Russia, she earned her MD in Pediatrics from Novosibirsk State Medical Academy in 2005 and completed postgraduate specialization in Pulmonology. She practiced as a staff physician and taught as an assistant lecturer at her alma mater, then moved into clinical research, coordinating trials across multiple therapeutic areas. After relocating to Canada in 2017, she brought her clinical experience and patient-first approach to dentistry, joining Gateway Dental as a Dental Assistant in December 2023.
